The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model is dry and wet. It comes with the upgraded AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which gives enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. The system is dual-laser LiDAR -- similar to what you'd find in self-driving cars -- and can scan up to 32 feet wide by 270 degrees. That translates into more precise mapping, faster response times, and better cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with a rotating mopping mat made of chenille. This makes it easier to scrub hard spots than traditional mopping. In my tests, the X2 Omni took just over one minute to clean its pad and begin work, and I noticed it was much more accurate than the previous models, which seemed to follow a grid route around rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms, and also create "Zambani patterns" across the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station on a regular basis to empty the dust bin and clean the mop using hot water before starting another clean-up job.

In our tests of hardwood floors and kibble, this robot performed well and picked up everything from a single grain of rice to multiple pieces of dog food in one pass. The A4s Pro is a bit expensive but it's an excellent buy for people who want to to leave the house without hands so that they can get out and do other things or perform household chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning feature that increases suction to take on tough dirt or spills. It also has a battery-powered ElectroWall to define the boundaries of the robot.

This budget-friendly model from a well-known brand is the cheapest we've ever tested, and provides incredible value for the money. Its basic navigation system uses an extremely basic random pathing algorithm, but it doesn't have room mapping capabilities, which makes it less efficient than the other models on this list. It's still able to navigate under furniture and into corners. Mopping mode performed very well in our tests, picking up stray hair and other debris.

It also uses intelligent-pathing navigational software to improve mobility. It also allows you to send it to a specific area, and its advanced suite of automation features includes no-go zones and scheduling. It lets you pause and restart cleaning sessions which is ideal for homes with pets.

The self-cleaning brushroll eliminates knots and holds up to 30 day's worth of dirt. It also has an assortment of side brushes that are angled to dig deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system can capture dust, dander, and allergens for a cleaner air.

This robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It has an app for smartphones which lets you alter the vacuum's settings and schedule cleaning sessions ahead of time.
