1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model is equipped with the company's upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that offers better mapping and obstacles avoidance. The system is dual-laser LiDAR -- similar to what you'll find in self-driving vehicles -- and can scan an area of up to 32 feet wide by 270 degrees. This means more precise mapping and faster response times and greater cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with an adjustable mopping pad made of chenille fabric, which makes it much easier to scrub difficult areas more effectively than traditional mops. In my tests the X2 Omni washed its pad in just a few seconds and was ready to go. I noticed that it was more accurate than other models that seemed to follow a grid around rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms, and also create "Zambani patterns" across the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station on a regular basis to empty the dustbin and wash the mop with hot water before starting another task of cleaning.

Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is easy to set up and begin using. Snap the dock into position connect it to the power outlet and pair it with your WiFi network at home. It takes just about a minute. Then, you can launch the app and get started with your first cleaning task. I was able customize my floor plan in about 15 minutes. This included creating restricted areas for mopping and sweeping as well as rearranging the positioning of furniture that is mounted on walls and much more. The X2 Omni did a great job during my tests, with excellent scores in the removal of pet hair and debris cleaning, as well as near-perfect results in cleaning crevices and edges.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The EcoVACS T10 Omni is an extremely powerful mopping and vacuum machine. It is the most sophisticated of the T-line from the company and comes with the new OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system that makes use of a dual-spinning brush to provide better cleaning than the traditional scrubbers. It also comes with YIKO built-in, a first-of-its-kind natural language processing tech that lets it respond to a range of voice commands. You can use the ECOVACS app to map your home, create cleaning schedules, and alter settings.

The main drawback of the T10 Omni is that it's not able to switch from mopping to vacuuming in one go. The two modes require you attach and take off the mop heads as needed, which is fine for most homes but not an ideal choice for those with busy lifestyles.

The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that delivers impressive results. It was able to remove more than 96% of debris from our hardwood flooring. This is a fantastic performance. It did an excellent job on carpets and tiles cleaning up 99% of dirt.

This robotic mop and vacuum has a large docking station that offers cool water auto-cleaning for its mop pads, automatic emptying into a 3L disposable bag that is easy to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also comes with a large tank of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more often between mopping sessions.

Deebot T10 has a wash tray built into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to rinse and dry its mop pads while it is using them. It does not have a tray that can be removed, which means that dust, dirt and other grime will slowly build up at the bottom.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

While the Anker-owned Eufy is well-known in the field of robot vacuums, this model is its first venture into the realm of mopping. It features enhanced intelligence, multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts for the type of surface you're cleaning. It's a mid-range cleaner that's stylish even if the claim of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning doesn't quite be realized.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a standard robotic vacuum cleaner from the top with its circular design, sweeping wheels and a raised area for sensors. On the other side you'll find a motorized floorbrush as well as a single side brush that pushes dust away from the edges and into the main path of its'mouth.' It's a little smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system is fairly sophisticated and allows you to set no-mop zones and specific cleaning zones. It is prone to hitting things like its charging station, and isn't the best self emptying robot vacuum and mop for pet hair in climbing over carpets. It was good at picking up pet hair from bare floors. In our tests it was able to pick up 89.5 percent of kitty litter.

The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, but it also has physical buttons at its base. These buttons let you choose a cleaning mode or turn off the robot. You can also use these to set no-go zones as well as see maps in real-time. It's also a bit chatty, and will let you know what it's planning to do next (start cleaning) or notify you if something isn't working.

4. ILIFE A4s

This model of high-tech vacuum can remove pet hair, kibble and other debris with great effectiveness. It can also move effortlessly around furniture legs. It has a feature set that is impressive, which includes two cleaning modes, an automatic docking station, and real-time obstacles avoidance technology. The Wi-Fi enabled device is controlled via the Neato App where cleaning schedules are set and maintenance requirements are monitored. The X2 Omni is a great option for homes that have a mixture of hard and robot vacuum mops carpet flooring. However, it will need some planning ahead to avoid getting caught by electrical cables, toys or other obstacles that might be unexpected.

In our hardwood floor and kibble tests the robot performed very well and was able to take everything from a single grain of rice to several pieces of dog food in one sweep. It did have some issues with rugs, but in general this vacuum cleaner is perfect for rooms with both types of flooring as well as a mix of pets.

It's a bit expensive but if you're able to manage the price, it's an excellent buy for those who wish to be able to leave their homes completely free to perform other tasks or to take care of chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that increases suction to take on the most difficult spills or dirt. It also has a battery-powered ElectroWall to set boundaries for the robot.

This budget-friendly robot from a popular new brand is the most affordable we've ever tested, and provides incredible value for the money. Its basic navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm, and it's not equipped to map rooms. This renders it less efficient than the other models on this list. However it's still able to reach under furniture and in corners and its mopping mode performed well in our testing it picked up pet hair and other debris easily.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not appear as durable, but it is better in removing pet hair from all surfaces. It cleans floors that are bare more thoroughly and does a good job on low-pile carpet and utilizes smart-pathing navigational technology to provide better maneuverability. It can be positioned to a particular area and has a suite of advanced automation options, including no-go zones and schedules. It also allows you to pause and restart cleaning sessions which is ideal for homes that have pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent tangles and can hold up to 30 day's worth of dirt. It has a set of side brushes that are angled to reach into corners and a multi-stage filter system to capture dust, allergens, and dander.

This vacuum feels solid and well-constructed, and it has a smartphone app that enables you to change the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning sessions in advance. The app allows you to see the remaining battery life of the iQ, and send push notifications if it encounters any issues during the cleaning session. You can control it using your voice using an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices you can mark out areas with physical boundary markers strips.

The iQ does a good job of removing bare floors and does a decent job with shaggy and low-pile carpet, but it doesn't have the same level of autonomy as our top picks. It is also expensive and its recurring cost can increase.
