The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

For pets that shed fur A robot vacuum/mop set-up is among the best floor cleaning options. The machine can mop and vacuum, and even dry and clean its own mop pads.

It also has the highest suction power of any robot we've tested, with 8,800Pa. It can also set up cleaning schedules and save maps of your home using its app.

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is dry and wet is equipped with the latest AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system from Ecovacs, which provides improved mapping and obstruction avoidance. The system is equipped with dual laser LiDAR that is similar to that found in self-driving vehicles. It can scan a space up to 32 feet by 360 degrees. This means more precise mapping as well as faster response time and higher cleaning accuracy.

It also features an adjustable mopping pad made of chenille, which makes it easier to scrub hard spots as opposed to traditional mops. In my tests the X2 Omni took just over a minute to clean its pad before getting to work, and I noticed that it was more precise than the previous models, which seemed to follow a gridded path around rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms, and also make "Zambani patterns" up and down the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station frequently to empty the dustbin and wash the mop with hot water, before starting another task of cleaning.

Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is easy to set up and begin using. It takes just minutes to snap the dock into position, plug it in and connect it to your Wi-Fi network at home. You can then launch the app to start your first cleaning project. I was able to modify my floor plan within 15 minutes. This included creating limited areas for sweeping and mopping as well as rearranging the positioning of furniture on the wall, and more. The X2 Omni performed admirably during my tests. It scored high in the areas of pet hair removal as well as debris removal, and had near-perfect results for edge and crevices cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The ECOVACS T10 Omni is an extremely powerful mopping and vacuum cleaner. It is the most advanced of the brand's T-line and features the brand's new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that uses Roborock S8 Dual Brush Robot Vacuum Cleaner-spinning brushes for superior Ultimate Cleaning with Ultenic D6s: Vibration Mopping And Powerful 3000Pa Suction over traditional oscillating scrubbing. It has YIKO, a natural language processing technology that is a first of its kind. This allows it to respond to a variety of voice commands. The ECOVACS App allows you to plan your home, make cleaning schedules and adjust settings.

The biggest issue with the T10 Omni is that it can't switch between mopping and vacuuming in a single operation. The T10 Omni comes with two modes that require you to attach mop heads and take them off in accordance with your needs. This is great for the majority of households, but not for people who have a busy schedule.

However, the Deebot Omni is an excellent robot vacuum and delivers impressive results in our tests on pet hair. It vacuumed up more than 96% of the debris we tossed at it on our hardwood floors, which is an outstanding performance. It also did an excellent job on tile and carpet, removing over 90% of dirt and dust.

This robotic mop and vacuum has an enormous docking station that provides cool water cleaning for the mop pads, automatic emptying into a 3L bag that's simple to replace, and hot-air drying for quick and easy maintenance. It also has a large reservoir of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more often between mopping sessions.

Like many other mopping robots like the Deebot T10 Omni, it has a wash tray in its base, which rinses and dries the mop pads as it uses them. It doesn't have a removable tray, so dust, dirt and other grime will slowly build up on the bottom.

3. RoboVac X8 hybrid

This is the first mopping model made by Anker which is well-known for its robot vacuums. It has upgraded smarts, multiple maps support and LIDAR scanning, along with twin turbine suction technology that adjusts to the surface you're cleaning. It's a tempting mid-range vacuum cleaner, even if it doesn't meet its promise to be a one-stop shop for floor cleaning.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a traditional robotic vacuum cleaner from the top with its circular shape with sweeping wheels, as well as a raised area for sensors. Flip it over, however you'll see a motorised floor brush plus one side sweeper brush that carries dirt from the edges into the main path of the robot's mouth. It's smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system allows you to define no-mop areas as well as specific cleaning zones. It is prone to hitting things like its charging station, and isn't the best at navigating over carpets. It did a good job of removing pet hair on floors that were not paved, though, and in our tests, it picked up 89.5% of kitty litter - a figure that puts it ahead of any of the most powerful robots we've examined.

Although it's controlled through the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with physical buttons on its base that allow you to choose a cleaning mode and turn the robot on/off. These buttons can be used to establish areas that aren't allowed to enter and access real-time maps. It's also a bit chatty, and will let you know what it's planning to do next (start cleaning) or alert you when something isn't right.

4. ILIFE A4s

This high-tech model is able to pick up pet hair, kibble, and other particles with impressive efficiency. It can also move effortlessly around furniture legs. It comes with a set of features that is impressive, including two cleaning modes and an automatic docking station, and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. It is Wi-Fi-enabled and is best controlled via the Neato app which allows cleaning to be scheduled and the overall maintenance requirements monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent option for homes with a large hardwood floors and carpet, robot vacuum mops but it requires some advance planning to avoid getting stuck on toys, power cords or other obstacles that might be unexpected.

In our test of hardwood floors and robot vacuum mops kibble it performed well and was able to pick up everything from one grain of rice to multiple pieces of dog food in one pass. It had a bit of difficulty transitioning to carpets, however, in general, this vacuum cleaner is perfect for rooms that have both types of flooring and a variety of pets.

It's a bit expensive however, if you are able to manage the price, it's an excellent buy for those who wish to leave their home hands-free to go about other tasks or take care of chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that increases suction to get rid of difficult dirt or spills. It also has a battery-powered ElectroWall to establish boundaries for the robot.

This budget-friendly choice from a popular upstart brand is the most affordable robot we've ever tested and provides an exceptional value for the price. Its basic navigation system uses a super-basic random pathing algorithm that isn't equipped with room mapping capabilities, making it less efficient than other models on this list. However it's still able to get under furniture and into corners and its mopping feature performed well during our tests and was able to pick up pet hair and other debris with ease.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ might not be as well-built, but it is better in removing pet hair from all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning low-pile carpet and floors that are not covered. It also makes use of smart-pathing navigational software for greater mobility. It also allows you to assign it to a specific room, and its sophisticated suite of automation features includes no-go zones and scheduling. It also allows you to suspend and resume cleaning making it ideal for homes that have pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent tangles and can carry up to 30 day's worth of dirt. It also comes with an array of side brushes that are angled to dig deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system captures dust, dander and allergens for a cleaner air.

The iQ robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It works with a smartphone application that lets you change the vacuum's settings and schedule cleaning sessions ahead of time. The app lets you view the remaining battery life of the iQ and also receive push notifications about any issues it encounters during a cleaning session. You can control it with your voice via an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices you can mark the boundaries of your area with physical boundary markers strips.

The iQ does a good job of removing bare floors and doing a fair job on low-pile and shaggy carpet, but it doesn't have the same level of autonomy as our top selections. It is also expensive and the cost of recurring use can be quite costly.
